Learn More

Has any of your solid hardwood furniture been damaged in the recent floods?  If so, this workshop is for you! In this workshop at the Innovation Hub, you will learn the basic steps of furniture restoration, including cleaning, sanding, staining (if necessary), and applying finish.  You are welcome to bring a small piece of furniture (think kitchen table chair, not kitchen table) to work on during this workshop.  We will have some finishes available for you to use, but if you need a specialty stain or finish you will need to bring it with you.  Unfortunately, we cannot help with restoring any furniture with upholstery or plywood parts, as these pieces are often too far gone to be salvaged after flooding.  We do ask that any furniture that you bring is fully dried and clean before the class.  Please note: not all furniture can be salvaged and some furniture may be damaged in the course of the workshop, so we ask that you only bring furniture that you can accept losing or that you are ok with having not exactly match what you had before. However, you are sure to learn new skills.  We want to help you recover from the recent flooding and hope to see you in this workshop!
