Get ready for a new way to game—learn how to MAKE the rules instead of just playing by them.

Campers will start by learning how to design games that are playable and fun. Whether you are interested in video games, board games, puzzles, or robot challenges, it’s important to know how to craft rules that will make for great gameplay. Next, it’s time to design the look and feel of your game whether it’s made of paper, wood, or pixels. Our team will work with campers to design components of games using video game design, clay, screen printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, and even robot programming! Campers will also learn how to brand, market, and sell their games.

Ages 8-10: June 15-19

Ages 11-13: June 22-26

Get inspired to create your own superhero! Whether your character has lasers, carries a big shield, or has an array of glowing and cool accessories, this design-think-make camp is for you.

Campers will first brainstorm their character—from hero’s backstory to super powers to costume. Then they will work with the Innovation Hub’s team to design costume components in 2D & 3D—followed by practical hands-on making instruction in 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, art, and clay. Campers will meet visiting experts who design and create costumes and props for personal and professional use, such as cosplay, theater, film, and fun. This is a great camp for the budding artist and tech enthusiast. No previous experience needed. Come in your secret identity. Leave in your super suit.

Ages 8-10: June 29 – July 3

Ages 11-13: July 6-10

You love animals. Now you can create animal-centric stuff in this innovative camp!

Meet animals—local and exotic—and make your own creations for and about them. Learn how to make interesting habitats for animals as you make your own functioning biosphere. You’ll also make wonderful and cool animal art pieces using clay, art, 3D printing, and laser cutting. The Innovation Hub’s skilled team of makers will help campers learn to design projects and turn their ideas into real-world objects that can help improve the world around them. Partners from the community will introduce students to pets and domestic and exotic animals. We’ll also meet some entrepreneurs who create things, especially for animals, and students will learn about making and selling their own creations.

Ages 8-10: July 20-24

Ages 11-13: July 27-31

Dazzle friends and impress your family with sleight-of-hand magic skills!

Study the history of magic and learn the Double Lift and Pinkie Break, the Classic Palm, the French Drop, and basic sleights such as the Bobo Switch. Magic Camp is a half day (8am-12pm) camp.
