If you’ve learned the basics of what vector designs are, you are ready to start creating designs to use on the laser cutters. Learn how to create designs and prepare them for laser cutting. This 2 week class will focus on design and theory so you do not need to know how to use the laser cutter and no laser cutters will be used in this workshop.

Start here! This is a recommended workshop for nearly everyone looking to learn something at the Innovation Hub. In this live online workshop, you will learn about what vector design is and how to design on your own computer using the free downloadable program, Inkscape. So what are vectors, exactly? They are scalable designs that can be used as logos for business or websites, but more importantly they are used in conjunction with the laser cutters, CNC routers, and screen printing to make some of the coolest things to come out of the Hub. This workshop is a prerequisite for our laser class, screen printing, and several other classes at the Hub!

Don’t wait to get in the print studio to start learning how to make T-shirts! Nearly half of the process is done on the computer. Whether you are thinking of starting a t-shirt business or making shirts for your family and friends, first you need to learn how to create designs and prepare them for printing. In this 2 week class, students will learn specific tips for how to design for screen printing. Students will also learn some basic tools in Inkscape to turn logos, drawings, or ideas into printable 1 color designs.

If you have to cancel your upcoming class, workshop, field trip or summer camp registration refunds will be given as follows: Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund, cancellations made 15-30 days in advance of the event date will receive a 50% refund, cancellations made 0-14 days within the event date will not receive any type of refund.
