August Virtual Summer Camps
Week 1 (August 3-7)
11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Learn all about 3D printing in this week-long virtual summer camp. We’ll cover the basics—how to find 3D models to print—or even design your own. Then we’ll learn about how 3D printers work and how to prepare a model for print. At the end of camp, the Innovation Hub staff will print a small object for each student to pick up.
1:00 PM–2:00 PM
Turn clay into everyday objects and pots for use in your own home. This week-long summer camp is a virtual experience that comes with a complete kit of materials and tools to use for the week. When camp is over, you’ll bring your finished creations back to the Innovation Hub to be fired in our kiln where they’ll undergo their final stage in becoming a ceramic object! When they are ready, we’ll contact you to pick up the finished products.
Week 2 (August 10-14)
11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Design is the most important part of laser-cutting and screen printing. In our week-long virtual camp, you’ll learn about vector design and how to create scalable designs which can be applied to objects and materials using equipment at the Innovation Hub.
After you pick up some basic software skills, you will design original art for a t-shirt and laser-cut object for our staff to produce. At the end of the camp, you’ll be able to pick up your custom-designed pieces to take home. Our Hub team will even provide some video of the production magic so you can see the process and how it works!
